Southern Appalachian Traditions, Reimagined for the Modern Home
Welcome to Chicken Librarian!
Welcome to Chicken Librarian — where Southern Appalachian traditions are reimagined for the modern home and intentional living.
Here, the timeless rhythms of the seasons, handcrafted heritage skills, and thoughtfully curated spaces come together to inspire a life that is both deeply rooted and gracefully modern. Whether you’re eager to cook from scratch, nurture a thriving garden, preserve the harvest, or create a cozy, welcoming home, Chicken Librarian offers guidance and inspiration to help you live with purpose and joy.
I grew up in the hills of East Tennessee, surrounded by the rich culture and stories of Southern Appalachia. My journey has carried me from Knoxville to Chattanooga, Johnson City, and even the Catskills region of New York — each place shaping my aesthetic and deepening my connection to sustainable living, entertaining, and the joy of farmstead life. Now, I’m back on the last 10 acres of my father’s working homestead — a land alive with family heritage and natural beauty.
As a gentlewoman farmer, I am dedicated to restoring this land through native landscaping, caring for heritage livestock, and honoring traditions in ways that resonate with today’s rhythms. Through Chicken Librarian, I blend Catskills-inspired style with Appalachian spirit to share farm-to-table living, sustainable practices, and the art of creating meaningful, intentional experiences.
Join me in crafting a life where heritage and home inspire modern living — filled with purpose, creativity, and intentional living.
