Farm-to-Table Lifestyle Curator

Welcome to The Farmstead—

I’m Kristin, founder of The Farmstead by Chicken Librarian, where I bring together hospitality, storytelling, and traditional skills by collaborating with land-based businesses to design immersive, elevated spaces and events that bring their stories, heritage, and culture to life.

A former Library Director and founder of Chicken Librarian, LLC, I spent decades honing expertise in rural living, seasonal skills, and immersive farm-to-table gatherings. Those experiences, along with two decades hosting guests at a Catskills fly-fishing resort, shape the work I do today—creating environments and experiences rooted in storytelling, connection, and intentional living.

Rooted in my Southern Appalachian heritage and the family land I now steward in East Tennessee, my work invites people to slow down, engage deeply, and reconnect with the rhythms of food, place, and community.

Where to Find Me

  • Clinch River Antique Festival

    May 1 12PM-7PM; May 2 9AM-5PM

Join me at the Clinch River Antique Festival in Clinton, TN, where I’ll be set up in the Inspiration Garden. This season’s theme is red, white, and blue Americana, and I’ve created a booth that captures the charm of a summer time farm-to-table gathering—think a long table set for a relaxed, beautiful meal filled with simple, thoughtful details.

While you’re there, stop by the demo booth on Friday, May 1st at 4 PM for a delicious conversation all about homemade pie. I’ll be sharing tips and techniques, with a special focus on crafting a flavorful whole wheat pie crust.

  • Seedtime on the Cumberland

    June 6 11AM-8PM

I’ll be heading to Whitesburg, KY, for the Appalshop Seedtime on the Cumberland Festival—a beloved celebration of Appalachian arts, crafts, and community in the mountains of eastern Kentucky.

Come visit the Yarn & Sundries Mobile Antique van, where I’ll be set up alongside Anna Lee, peddling a thoughtfully gathered collection of goods. We’re honored to be part of the festival’s 40th anniversary and can’t wait to join in the festivities.

If you find yourself in Whitesburg, be sure to stop by and say hello—we’d love to see you there!
