Meet the Founder: Kristin

Growing up on her father’s family land in East Tennessee, Kristin developed a lifelong connection to the land, seasonal rhythms, and regional traditions. This foundational upbringing shaped her belief that some of life’s most meaningful moments happen around shared tables and in well-loved spaces. Later, she spent nearly two decades deeply involved in the operation of a premier fly-fishing resort in the Catskill Mountains of New York. Those defining years—revolving around welcoming guests, managing seasonal events, and sharing meals—rooted her understanding of hospitality as both a fine art and a way of life.

Alongside her work in hospitality, Kristin built a distinguished career in public education and community knowledge, serving as a School Librarian and a Library Director. Her years in these roles deepened her commitment to exhaustive research, organizing details, and the preservation of heritage within communities. This rare combination of high-touch guest hosting and archival expertise became the spark for her venture, Chicken Librarian. Much like a traditional librarian curates and preserves vital stories, Kristin envisioned a firm that acts as a living archive for the traditions, people, and places that make a region worth knowing.

The evolution of Chicken Librarian, LLC stems from Kristin's passion for turning creative, place-based visions into physical realities. Recognizing that modern hosts and properties often become entirely overwhelmed by the complex logistical burdens of event planning, she stepped into the role of Creative Director. Today, she uses her extensive background in seasonal cooking, food preservation, and rural living to orchestrate effortless collaborations between private families, local artisans, and land-based businesses worldwide.

Operating from her family’s historic ten-acre homestead in East Tennessee, Kristin serves as the single point of contact for clients seeking to experience a slower, richer way of living. Whether she is designing a remote travel blueprint for a global family reunion, managing a signature monthly estate membership, or partnering with luxury preserves to script a heritage weekend, her work remains dedicated to delivering quiet beauty, community, and the simple luxury of time.
