I’m Kristin — born and raised in East Tennessee, shaped by the natural beauty around me, and now living on the last 10 acres of my dad’s family estate, where my work and life finally align.
For years, I lived in the Catskill region of New York, learning to grow food, raise chickens, preserve the harvest, and build a life around handmade work and seasonal rhythms. It was also where my aesthetic took shape: simple, honest, rooted in nature, with a love for the small details that make a home feel warm, lived-in, and grounded.
Those years taught me the value of connection, food shared at long tables, and the slow, patient work of creating something with my hands. Returning to East Tennessee—and to the land my dad’s family has been tied to for generations—led me to build The Farmstead by Chicken Librarian. Here, on my dad’s family land, I live the life that chose me: close to the land, grounded in community, and guided by the seasons.
Today, I produce immersive, elevated farm-to-table experiences that bring together everything I’ve learned along the way. I also work alongside land-based businesses to design environments where refined design, heritage, and working land come together as a way of life.
My hope is to help people reconnect with what steadies them: good food, simple living, and a sense of belonging. If you’re drawn to Appalachian traditions, handmade work, and a slower, more thoughtful way of living, you’ll feel at home here.
What I Do
I help individuals and land-based businesses bring farm-to-table living to life through immersive, thoughtful experiences. I design gatherings and spaces that reflect the character of the land, celebrate seasonal ingredients, and connect people to the rhythms of food, culture, and heritage.
From crafting immersive events to shaping experiences that engage the right audiences, I provide guidance that ensures every moment feels intentional, memorable, and grounded in place.
