Workshop Policies

Thank you for your interest in a Chicken Librarian workshop. Each experience is thoughtfully designed around seasonal ingredients, traditional foodways, and the joy of gathering around food.

The following policies help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both guests and hosts.

Booking & Payment

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your workshop date.

The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to the scheduled workshop.

Your workshop date is considered reserved once the deposit has been received.

Workshop Length

Most workshops are approximately 3–4 hours in length. Timing may vary slightly depending on the specific workshop, group size, and experience.

Travel

Travel up to 50 miles from Chicken Librarian’s local service area is included in the workshop price.

Travel beyond 50 miles is charged at $1 per mile.

For locations significantly outside the immediate service area, please contact Chicken Librarian to discuss logistics and any additional travel considerations.

Guest Count

Workshop pricing is based on the agreed-upon guest count at the time of booking.

Final guest count must be confirmed 7 days prior to the workshop.

Additional guests may be added, when space allows, according to the current workshop pricing structure.

Cancellation Policy

More than 30 days before the workshop:
The deposit is fully refundable.

15–30 days before the workshop:
50% of the deposit is refundable.

Less than 15 days before the workshop:
The deposit is non-refundable.

Rescheduling

If a workshop needs to be rescheduled, Chicken Librarian will make every effort to accommodate a new date based on availability.

Deposits may be transferred to a new workshop date when rescheduling requests are made with appropriate notice.

Weather & Unforeseen Circumstances

In the event of severe weather, unsafe travel conditions, illness, or circumstances outside the control of either party, Chicken Librarian will work with the host to determine the best path forward, including rescheduling whenever possible.

Workshop Experience

Each Chicken Librarian workshop is designed to be a thoughtful, hands-on experience. Ingredients, materials, and hospitality details vary by workshop and will be outlined in the individual workshop description.

Guests are encouraged to arrive ready to slow down, participate, and enjoy the process of creating food together.
