The Farmstead Workshops: Kitchen Edition Intro to Fermentation
The Farmstead Workshops: Kitchen Edition | Intro to Fermentation | Tuesday February 10 | 7PM
Dive into the art of fermentation in this demo-style, one-hour live virtual workshop. During the class, we’ll make a seasonal vegetable ferment and apple scraps vinegar, while covering the foundational techniques for safely fermenting foods, developing flavor, and observing the natural rhythms of living foods.
Designed as an introduction and refresher, this session offers clarity and confidence without overwhelm.
What We’ll Demonstrate
During the live session, you’ll see two foundational ferments made start to finish:
A seasonal vegetable ferment
Apple scraps vinegar, using kitchen trimmings
These demonstrations focus on process, rhythm, and decision-making, rather than strict recipes or precision replication.
Workshop Format
This is a demonstration-focused virtual workshop.
You are welcome to follow along and make syrups during class, though the session is structured primarily for observation, learning, and shared discussion.
All workshops are recorded. A 1–2 page PDF with ratios, techniques, and example uses will be emailed to registered participants within 24 hours of registration.
Questions are welcomed throughout, with the understanding that time and depth are shared across the group. For more personalized guidance, 1:1 sessions are available separately.
Workshop Schedule
The Farmstead Workshops are organized by focus and day:
– Kitchen Edition workshops are held on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM (ET)
– Home + Garden Edition workshops are held on Thursdays at 7:00 PM (ET)
All workshops are one-hour, live virtual demonstrations.
Optional Companion Resource
The Seasonal Living Guide: Fermentation is available for purchase separately. It provides deeper guidance, seasonal inspiration, and reference notes to complement your workshop experience.
